The Scope

Act as the focal point for managing solution design, development, deployment, and maintenance of FSC’s core IT Application landscape. The position is responsible for conceptualizing, planning, coordinating, and overseeing all activities related to the development, enhancement, improvement, and support of existing business applications while adhering to and implementing best IT practices including data integrity.

 

Main Roles and Responsibilities

  • To manage the acquisition and deployment of IT applications, systems software, and associated products.
  • Build and maintain an in-depth understanding of the technology, service solutions, business processes and components of FSC’s core IT applications.
  • Lead Implementation and execution of IT application development projects.
  • Identify and provide feedback on areas of improvement for FSC’s IT applications.
  • Manage pre-testing phase of development by evaluating solution designs to identify potential problem areas and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Coordinating User acceptance testing, bug and break fixing in liaison with our IT partners and vendors.
  • Manage vendor relationships and pursue the effective collaboration with external development teams.
  • Collaborate across business units and technology functions to ensure comprehensive business solutions are implemented.
  • Oversee requirements gathering, analysis and documentation for cross-functional initiatives.
  • Oversees review and analysis of existing application’s effectiveness and efficiency and develops strategies for improvement and enhancement.
  • Gather statistics and prepare and report on the status of the programming and development processes.
  • Any other task as assigned by formal supervisor and project work as assigned according to special organizational needs.

 

Qualification, Experience and Skills

  • Education and Training:
    • Masters / University degree / higher-level education or training in computer science, business Information technology or IT-related field.
    • Certifications and/or successfully completed Dynamics training or equivalent (desired modules: Microsoft Power Platform, Dynamics 365 Core, Customer Engagement, Case Management, Custom and Marketing).
    • Certification in Project Management, Agile Scrum, and ITIL will provide an added advantage.

 

  • Working Experience, Style and Skills:
    • At least 4 years of hands-on experience in managing the development and implementation of IT web applications and Software as a Service.
    • At least 4 years of professional experience in IT application development with focus on web applications and L3 support.
    • At least 2 years or relevant experience in IT Project Management.
    • Direct, hands-on experience with managing and configuring Microsoft Dynamics including implementation of managed solutions packages.
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics software quality assurance and data security best practice.
    • Experience and knowledge of working with Microsoft Azure Suite.
    • Working knowledge of API’s and system integration protocols.
    • Experience with working with Software development repositories and developer platforms including GitHub.
    • Knowledge of applicable data security and privacy practices and laws.

 

  • Technical Skills:
    • Management of Microsoft 365 suite, power platforms, Azure DevOps, and Azure Cloud Services.
    • Database Management Skills (SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
    • Hands-On experience with web development technologies and frameworks (HTLM. CSS, JavaScript, React, Angular).
    • Scrum/ Agile software development methodologies. Certification as a scrum master will provide an added advantage.
    • Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) management.

 

  • Languages and Communication Skills:
    • Fluency in English (spoken and written). 
    • Customer service orientation with good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to convey information clearly to users and grasp perceived difficulties.
    • Proven vendor management expertise.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision making skills.

 

  • Others:
    • Commitment to FSC’s mission and values.
    • Demonstrated cultural awareness and sensitivity to the diversity of values, views and approaches to issues relevant to the FSC program by stakeholders around the world.

 

Terms and Conditions

  • Location: Bonn, Germany.
  • Working Hours: Full time - 40 hours per week.
  • Duration of Employment: Temporary contract - 2 years (extension possible, subject to satisfactory performance).
  • Starting Date: As soon as possible.
