Permanent, Full Time - 40 hours per week

Location - Remote working, UK based, with occasional travel to UK offices and international programmes

Salary - circa £115,000 depending upon experience

About the role:

The Director of Information, Systems and Quality Assurance will provide strategic leadership in the design, development, implementation, and management of information technology (IT) and information management (IM) strategies. The Director plays a critical role in shaping HALO’s digital future and ensuring that its technology investments contribute to its overall success.

The Director will also create a framework to manage HALO processes, policies and audit measures, ensuring compliance across the organisation. The position requires a combination of technical expertise, strategic thinking, leadership skills, and effective communication.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a framework to manage HALO processes, procedures, systems, and audit measures, allowing for the compliant and timely delivery of operational outcomes in line with ISO and other relevant international standards.
  • Create a joined-up, secure and user-friendly internal digital architecture to support HALO’s global operations and management processes.
  • Oversee the creation, implementation, and review of HALO policies, coordinating with policy owners across the organisation to ensure compliance.
  • Develop and implement an IM strategy aligned with HALO’s strategic goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement an ICT strategy aligned with HALO’s strategic goals and objectives, including the design, implementation, and maintenance of HALO technology infrastructure.
  • Act as HALO’s Data Protection Officer, ensuring HALO’s data processing, management and security complies with relevant laws and regulations and stay informed about changes in regulations and adjust policies accordingly.
  • Create effective data analytics tools to deliver business intelligence and better understand and interrogate HALO’s information and data to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance.
  • Evaluate and select technology vendors, manage the relationships and negotiate contracts, ensuring vendors deliver on their commitments.
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight to functional quality assurance teams, including safeguarding, audit, and operational compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and address information management needs.
  • Line manage relevant Heads and technical experts under your command, providing strategic leadership and guidance.Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry best practices.
  • Report on key metrics and performance indicators to senior management and Trustees.

General

  • Uphold HALO’s core values and standards, promoting its ethos and mission statement.
  • Ensure familiarity with and adhere to all HALO policies and procedures and keep informed of HALO activities.
  • Act as Duty Officer as and when required.
  • Maintain a motivated and effective working environment within the Directorate.

Requirements

Who we're looking for:

Essential:

  • Degree in information systems, computer science, or a related field (or demonstrable professional experience in a similar senior role).
  • Significant experience in information management, systems administration, and quality assurance.
  • Proven experience in leading technology strategy and implementation at an organisational level.
  • Knowledge of information security and data privacy regulations.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience working in a complex and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel internationally as required.

Desirable:

  • Experience within the INGO or business sectors, operating internationally.
