Role objectives
  1. Assist the QM Manager in the planning, monitoring, and QA/QC of all MAPA mine action humanitarian activities in the region.
  2. Work in full coordination and consultation with the MATC regional office.
  3. Make sure MAPA humanitarian IP resources are utilized as effectively and efficiently as possible
  4. Represent the MATC office at the field level.
  5. Prepare the monthly, quarterly, and yearly regional operations plans
  6. Conduct confirmation assessment on recorded and newly reported Explosive Hazards to ensure their validity and accessibility.
  7. Ensure mine action activities are conducted in accordance with national mine action standards, SOPs and project contracts/work plan.
  8. Conduct quality control of cleared land whenever needed
  9. Monitor mine action projects productivity through using IMSMA analysing tools.
  10. Provide technical support to Mine Action resources in line with Humanitarian priorities
  11. Ensure cleared land handover is conducted in line with national mine action standards
  12. Track the IPs mine action projects progress against the OPS plan.
  13. Provide technical recommendations to MATC via the QM Manager for continual improvement of mine action operations.
  14. Provide reports on mine action operations to the MATC and stakeholders while needed.
  15. Conduct quality checks of all IP reports before and after entry into the IMSMA.
  16. Investigate demining and mine accidents in full coordination with National Authority
  17. Attend operations meetings and TWG at regional levels when required.
  18. Ensure requests are responded to timely.
  19. Attend meetings with other agencies while required
  20. Undertake other tasks directed by the direct supervisor and MATC departments and/or advised by the MATC regional focal point.
  21. Provide effective technical support to the IPs to make sure safe, effective, and efficient mine action operations are delivered
  22. Ensure mine action documents are maintained properly.
  23. Provide briefings to visitors
  24. Provide technical recommendations/suggestions to the QM Manager in accordance with the observations made during the QA/QC process, including but not limited to, effective implementation of AMAS/SWP and training needs;
  25. Evaluate on a regular basis as per internal QM appraisal policy and procedure.
  26. Draft technical reports as required;
  27. Ensure that monthly activity reports are provided to the QM Data Entry Processor in due course;
  28. Participate in any investigation of demining accident as required;
  29. Undertaking technical monitoring and assessments of the MAPA IPs EOD & AIM activities by physically visiting field operations when required.
  30. Ensures the EOD & AIM operations conducted by IPs are carried out in accordance with the national standards
  31. Ensures the completed tasks belonging to the specific projects are properly handed over to the end users and the required procedures are met.
  32. Conduct regular analysis of External and internal QA/QC output, using the IMSMA data
  33. Carry out any additional tasks as required by the QM Manager.
