SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka, a member organization of SOS-Kinderdorf International, provides total care to the children who have lost their parents as well as the children who are at risk of losing the care of their biological family. The organization has well established Projects in Piliyandala, Nuwaraeliya, Galle, Anuradhapura, Monaragala, Jaffna, Gandara, Peraliya, Malpotha and Mallavi. SENIOR CO-WORKER – (CHILDREN’S VILLAGE - ANURADHAPURA)

The Senior Co-workers supports the Village Director in the day to day operations and the management of the Children’s Village.  S/he works in close collaboration with Children, Mothers and Co-workers and ensure that the daily tasks, activities and events of the Children’s Village is carried out smoothly. The Village Director will delegate certain administrative duties to the Senior Co-worker.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Under the leadership of the Village Director ensure the smooth operations and administration of the day to day tasks activities and events of the Children’s Village.
  • support the Village Director to implement relevant programme, safeguarding and administrative policies.
  • Assists in the planning, budgeting, monitoring and evaluation of the Children’s Village
  • Provide guidance and support to SOS Mothers and Aunts to ensure the development of the SOS family.
  • Adherence to all safeguarding policies (CPP, COC and PSHEA) as well as other key policies and procedures of the organization.
  • Any other duties as specified by the Village Director. 
Candidate’s Profile:
  • Degree in Sociology, social work, science, psychology or equivalent in experience.
  • Minimum 2 - 4 years’ experience in administration, working with children and/ or youth or equivalent.
  • Ability to foster a nurturing and learning environment for children, mothers and Co-workers.
  • Empathy, caring and sound listening skills.
  • Sound communication skills in the local language and communication skills in English.
  • Computer literacy.
