Mission and objectives
The United Nations Resident Coordinator’s Office (RCO) supports the UN Resident Coordinator (RC) in Indonesia. As designated representative of the UN Secretary-General, RC leads and strategically positions the United Nations Country Team (UNCT) in support of national priorities, development strategies, and plans. RCO coordinates activities related to common programming of UN in Indonesia. The support includes strategic planning, programme and operations management, policy guidance, data management and results reporting as well as knowledge management, advocacy, and communications – all seeking to enhance UN coherence and improve overall programme impact to better achieve development results. Under the leadership of the RC, the RCO is also implementing a wide range of initiatives to make the Leaving No-One Behind (LNOB) concept concrete and tangible, especially in the areas of youth, gender and disability inclusion. Please visit UN Resident Coordinator Office Indonesia’s website for more details https://indonesia.un.org/en/about/about-the-resident-coordinator-office.
Context
Leaving No One Behind (LNOB) remains UNCT priority for the coming years. As part of the follow-up study on Leave No One Behind (LNOB)(link to study 2022), the United Nations Country Team (UNCT) in Indonesia conducts a comprehensive contextual assessment to delve deeply into the resilience of the system from the perspective of marginalized groups who have been excluded from the mainstream system, with a specific focus on individuals and persons with disabilities residing in disadvantaged regions. As a result of an in-depth analysis and case studies from NTT and Papua, the study implications include an LNOB operational guide, that has been developed to assist the UN agencies to integrate LNOB perspective into their future initiatives. To that end, we are seeking to collaborate with Online Volunteers to support us in graphic design for the Study.
