Mission and objectives
The World Health Organization (WHO) is the directing and coordinating authority for public health within the United Nations system. The WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean is one of WHO’s 6 regional offices around the world. It serves the WHO Eastern Mediterranean Region, which comprises 21 Member States and occupied Palestinian territory (including East Jerusalem), with a population of nearly 679 million people.
Context
With the end of the term of the current Regional Director, Dr Ahmed Al-Mandhari, a farewell event is being organized on 28 January, during which his contributions will be acknowledged. As a farewell gesture, a book carrying farewell messages and photos from the workforce across the Eastern Mediterranean region and from senior management from other WHO regions and HQ, will be presented in printed and digital format.
Task description
We are looking for 1 online volunteer who under the guidance of Sampreethi Aipanjiguly, Internal Communications officer, WHO EMRO, and in close collaboration with the communications team support us by designing a memory book to be gifted to the departing Regional Director. In particular, the Online Volunteer is asked to: - Create draft design for a memory book in square format, based on requirements and discuss with focal point/ communications team; - Develop the design according to agreed requirements, including the 150 messages and photos gathered. - Edit images to fit the design The design/layout should follow our corporate design guidelines which will be shared with the Online Volunteer in advance. The Online Volunteer will have the opportunity to build connections with the Corporate communications team at the WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean and learn about the ways in which graphic design supports internal communications and workforce recognition.
