We are looking for an engaged Market Intelligence Manager who brings solid expertise and a passion for FSC’s mission, to work with us in a multinational environment.

 

The Scope

To provide value added data analyses, to aid market strategy building and decision making, to identify and translate market opportunities into actionable recommendations, to achieve market targets, to improve market transformation efficiency, and to optimize market development and marketing activities.

 

Main Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage the market intelligence (MI) area of the programme by producing MI materials to use for market development, and by coordinating MI work with other relevant teams at FSC.
  • Create an FSC market performance report and conduct global market survey.
  • Monitor trends and developments of key value chains and FSC’s performance against key metrics.
  • Create and update comprehensive industry report, including market share, growth projections and trends, and market forces and analyze key countries’ market development status.
  • Collect unfulfilled market data needs and collaborate with the Technology and Information Unit to improve data collection.
  • Support value chain development (VCD) by performing market data analysis and generating clear and user-friendly reports and dashboards.
  • Research complementary data (e.g., from publicly available sources) to integrate project needs as required, liaise with internal/external stakeholders, and advise VCD team on potential improvements in market data analysis and performance monitoring.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external key stakeholders to identify emerging needs and market challenges.
  • Uncover unmet market needs.
  • Evaluate marketing activities and provide recommendations.
  • Any other task as assigned by formal supervisor and project work as assigned according to special organizational needs.

 

Qualification, Experience and Skills

  • Working Education and Training:
    • University degree or equivalent training or experience in a relevant field, for example, Business Administration, Economics, Forest Product, Math, Engineering, Statistics.
       
  • Working Experience, Style and Skills:
    • At least 5 years of professional experience in market intelligence, analytics, statistics and/or reporting experience.
    • Strong analytical skills including experience in data analysis for market intelligence.
    • Demonstrated strength in problem solving and capable of driving insight to action.
    • Experience of predictive analytics is a plus.
    • Open-minded and communicative personality with a high degree of market orientation.
    • Proven professional abilities in managing complex projects in a multi-cultural environment.
    • Basic knowledge of forest products’ markets.
    • Collaborative working style and team building skills.
  • Language & Communication Skills:
    • Very good verbal and written communication skills.
    • Fluency in English (spoken and written).
    • Spanish or French is a plus.

 

  • Computer Skills – good skills in the use of/experience with:
    • High level of competence with Microsoft Office suite (in particular, advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills).
    • Tableau/Power BI
    • Prior experience with R, Python, or other related programming languages is preferred.

 

Terms and Conditions

  • Location: Bonn, Germany.
  • Working Hours: Full time - 40 hours per week.
  • Duration of Employment: Temporary contract – 2 years (extension possible, subject to satisfactory performance).
  • Starting Date: As soon as possible.
