In this configuration, CBM Country Offices, and particularly the DRC Coordination office, carry out internal control and monitoring procedures covering both the projects implemented by our partners, and the overall management of the Country Office. To this end, we are looking for a Finance Officer.
The position is a Fulltime position. 
The position is located in Kinshasa. 
This position is only filled locally (in Democratic Republic of Congo), with contractual conditions of the Country. An expatriation is not intended.

These are your responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Finance Manager, the main objective of this position is to support the Finance department and to ensure efficient financial and accounting management according to SYSCBNL standards. 

The Finance Officer will be primarily responsible for: 
  • Managing of the organisation's treasury, mainly the management of transfers and bank accounts;
  • Preparing and recording in the Business Central Software, the accounting documents: including analytical allocation and allocation of accounting documents as well as data entry, bank reconciliation and periodic reports according to the deadlines agreed in the organisation;
  • Under the supervision of the Finance Manager, ensure the remote monitoring of detailed expenditure statements for the Goma sub-office,
  • Fill in the payment vouchers and get all the approvals ;
  • Filing the accouting files;
  • Verification of accounting files and records for compliance with CBM requirements;
  • Participating in the preparation of annual budget forecasts;
  • Carrying out the monthly budget monitoring of the organisation, this involves that accounting record of each month shall always be up to date
  • Preparation of financial reports according to the organisation's budget lines;
  • Accounting administration of the staff payroll, including salary transfers, verification and implementation of organisational and legal implications related to changes in the salary structure, follow-up of relations with social and fiscal bodies; preparation of the quarterly declaration of amounts paid to third parties;preparation and declaration of payroll taxes
  • Management of relations with the banks;
  • Updating the organisation's fixed asset accounting file;
  • Controlling and updating the fixed assets file;
  • Supervise the management of the petty cash;
  • Any other task required by line management in line with the position.
 


 

These are your qualifications

  • Essential Requirements

  • Degree in a Finance related field (such as Business Management or Business Administration)
  • A professional accounting qualification (such as CPA, ACCA or CIMA) and Project Management knowledge is an asset
  • Four years’ of professional experience in NGO or related organisation
  • Highly numerate with proven analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written) with ability to translate financial information to non-financial audience.
  • Demonstrated ability in financial statements analysis with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while juggling and coordinating multiple/conflicting priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to integrate into a multi-cultural environment.
  • Reflects CBM values in daily work.
  • Must be proactive, seeking to do things differently, and to solve problems effectively and efficiently.
  • Possess the skills required for the efficient use of accounting software.
  • Computer skills: proficiency in Windows 10 environment (Microsoft 2016: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), internet research and data analysis skills
  • English and French professional proficiency are mandatory
  • English practical knowledge in accounting is mandatory
  • Demonstrate the ability to anticipate and prioritise needs.
  • Demonstrate initiative, creativity, conscientiousness and organisation.
  • Interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Be dynamic and able to work under pressure.
  • Identification with Christian values and the mandate of the CBM.
