Context

Public Health Aid Awareness and Education Organization is a not-for-profit organization based in Abuja, Nigeria and was established to promote sustainable community development initiatives and thereby address several exigent issues – ranging from water sanitation and hygiene to women's rights – that are hindering the progress of the country. Few of our ongoing projects focus on applications of various state-of-the-art technologies. To continue PHAAE's mission in carrying the above mentioned projects, PHAAE requires support in grant writing where the grants will allow PHAAE to expand its partnership and scientific outreach activities (e.g., publications); and extensively to reach out to more potential donors based in the US. Furthermore, this assignment will also support PHAAE to acquire grants to implement projects in areas of water sanitation and hygiene and sustainability (where PHAAE has undertaken several projects in the past couple of years) and the takeaways from these globally focused endeavors would be streamlined to serve the needs of Nigeria communities. To that end, we are currently looking for three Online Volunteers with experience in grant/report/article writing, who can help us in grant writing. The Online Volunteers are expected to dedicate approximately 20 hours per week to carry this assignment.

Task description

PHAAE seeks the help of 3 online volunteers who will work collaboratively with the contact person of the organization to draft a high-quality proposal which will be submitted to the Donor. Among the 3 volunteers, the tasks will be split into 3 categories as follows: a) research in certain areas: who could conduct research on business models related to WASH and could provide subject-specific inputs; b) proposal writing: whose core focus will be on writing grant drafts, communicating with the PHAAE focal person, and meeting the deadlines; c) graphical design: who could help with creating figures/graphical illustrations for the grant proposals. At the end of assignment volunteers will be issued with a certificate of appreciation from UNV. Online volunteers won't be requested to contact any third party on our behalf.
