The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration of one year. There are very good prospects for an extension. Employment location will be Kyiv, Ukraine.

As Expert Logistics at our Welthungerhilfe (WHH) Country Office in Ukraine, you will support the Logistics Coordinator and the Logistics Manager in general logistics activities such as procurement, fleet management, inventory, stock, assets, premises, warehouse management and general coordination. You will also oversee Country Office premises management and office and guest houses. Additionally, you will support in coordinating, managing, and sharing information from the Country Office to the Field Offices. In your role, you will be responsible for updating and filling accurate administrative records (minutes, reports, logistics trackers) for all country locations in the different common storage platforms. With your work you will ensure smooth day to day running of operations of WHH in Ukraine.

Your responsibilities

• Asset and inventory management for WHH Ukraine
• Support in field shipments and processing of necessary documents
• Assist in processing field-based Country Office procurements
• Monitor the availability of supplies (inventory, stationery etc.) and arrange for replenishment
• Support stock management and warehousing and maintain updated inventory list for all locations with accurate data in collaboration with field logisticians
• Oversee fleet management and vehicle inspection
• Support in capacity building, warehousing and inventory, as well as asset and premises management
• Support the Logistics Coordinator in the mission logistics strategy designing
• Provide personal support to local partner organizations in procurement processes and the development of logistics manuals
• On Logistics Coordinator request, represent the organization in forums such as logistics clusters, meetings amongst partners, authorities and different local actors involved in the logistics

Your profile

• A university or college degree in humanitarian logistics (e.g. Bioforce)
• First logistics experience in the Humanitarian sector and a minimum of one year of general management experience
• Knowledge of procurement and supply chain in humanitarian contexts
• Management experience, organizational skills and coordination skills
• Specific experience in fleets, assets, and warehouse management, as well as experience in customs, importation are an asset
• Strong work ethic, commitment, ability to take initiatives and responsibilities, good analytical, prioritization, organization and stress management skills
• Readiness to receive necessary vaccinations for working in Welthungehrilfe project countries
• Very good English skills both written and spoken; Ukrainian and/or Russian language skills are an asset.
