POSITION TITLE: Facilities Maintenance Manager, South Camp

DEPARTMENT: Force Engineering Office (FEO)

LOCATION: Sharm El-Sheikh, South Sinai, Egypt

REPORTING LINE: Chief of Facilities Engineering (CFE).

 

Job Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Manager (FMM) will be responsible for operational level planning, controlling, and directing maintenance operations in THE MFO Sinai based sites with direction and assistance of the Chief of Facilities Engineering (CFE).  The FMM oversees a multi-cultural workforce comprising expatriate supervisors and local national staff who conduct planned preventive, corrective maintenance and minor “New Works”, which include alterations or refurbishments of existing buildings and utility systems. Working with all elements of FEO planners and designers within the department, the FMM will generate and maintain the required maintenance plans in SAP S/4HANA for the facilities and oversee their implementation along with conducting projects in line with MFO directives.  From a soft skills point of view, one of the most important functions of the FMM is to ensure the well-being of staff and synergy within this diverse group of individuals.

This incumbent will be directly accountable for operational leadership within the facilities functions, and minor project support.  Looking at balancing the midterm objectives in line with the strategic plans by ensuring a high level of performance from their team and a safety-first culture, along with maintaining financial control against allocated budgets, as directed by the FEO.

 

 Key Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for the management of all resources within the facilities team through the SAP system. This includes:

a.     human (performance, training, roster management, appraisals, development, counseling, and discipline). 

b.    materials (requirements, usage, stock levels, functionality). Plant / Equipment (utilization, effectivity, maintenance, operator training, asset register and analyzing BER status).

 

  • Works with subject matter experts and the projects team, to plan, prepare statements of requirements,  bills of material, and determining craft/skill requirements for each task. 

 

  • Ensures safety directives and working practices are adhered to, including the uploading of hot works and dig permits, lift plans and ground services scans, regular safety visits are conducted and reported.

 

  • Maintains the MFO Safety Culture and ensures that safety (risk) assessments and method statements are prepared, reviewed and authorized to ensure safe systems of work are used and recorded with correct utilization and issue of PPE where required.

 

  • Oversees the recording of all facility maintenance, repairs, and refurbishment work on work orders, and that the descriptive narrative accurately reflects the work.

 

  • Ensures that rework is properly investigated to determine the root cause and necessary corrective action to prevent recurrence.

 

  • Creates and maintains facility maintenance schedules in SAP and engages proper resources to develop a safe, effective, and efficient plan for implementing corrective and preventive maintenance and new work (modification / improvement).  Responsible for ensuring PPMs are accurately maintained on SAP, including creating new, updates and auditing on the SAP Plant Maintenance Module. 

 

  • Responsible for the control of the work order reporting functions and front desk. Ensures that work order data is entered into SAP with due priority to maintain an up-to-date work order system that is extensively used by others. Will use the SAP system to report on work order status, maintenance requirements, priority, material requirements and utilization, and manpower times allocated.

 

  • Responsible for ensuring that Quality Assurance is maintained within the department, focusing on processes and procedures including training documentation and audits.

 

  • Responsible for supporting minor facilities projects, including scheduling and material costs in line with the allocated budget.

 

  • Audits power production at the facilities provided, including monthly load tests and checks for standby systems.

 

  • Monitors and controls sub-contractors performing tasks such as garbage collection, septic pump outs and minor projects.  This includes confirmation that invoices are accurate against work conducted in volume and frequency.

 

  • Assist with audits of resources (manpower and materials).

 

  • Support the Chief of Facilities Engineering and the Chief of Support as required in their duties.

 Our Requirements

  • Valid Home Country driver’s license and able to obtain and maintain an appropriate MFO driving and equipment license.  
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to write accurate instructions. 
  • Proficiency with MS Excel and Word and the ability to learn SAP 4 Hanna to make reports and to track and manage Work Orders. Prior SAP experience will be an advantage.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, prepare rough sketches of work, and estimates of material and labor.  
  • Set a consistent example for others in management effectiveness, leadership style, communication, and integrity.
  • Possesses a safety and quality-oriented attitude with a solid customer focused outlook.
  • Capable of learning and developing their skillset to respond to the organization's needs.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others and at the operation/strategic level.
  • Must be fluent in English; a working knowledge of Arabic/Spanish would be a plus.

 

 Education and Experience: 

  • College/University Degree in Engineering, Facilities, Construction, Construction Management. Or level 7 NVQ equivalent. 
  • 10+ years’ experience in management in a related field. 
  • Experience working within a multinational environment.
  • Licensing or Certifications for Health, Environment, Quality & Safety
  • Prior military/Middle East construction experience is an asset

Conditions of Employment

·       This position carries an annual total salary of USD105,881.

·       A two-year, renewable, unaccompanied-status contract including free housing, meals, worldwide health insurance and recreational facilities is offered. May be eligible for tax free status.

·       Any appointment/extension of appointment is subject to the MFO HR Directives and other relevant internal rules. Any offer of employment with the MFO is conditional upon certification by the MFO Medical Adviser that the person concerned is medically fit to perform the specific inherent requirements of the position offered. To confirm an offer from the MFO the successful candidate will be required to undergo a medical examination.

·       Any extension of employment contracts is subject to various elements including the following:  continuing need of the functions and satisfactory conduct and performance.
