ABOUT THE ROLE

The Transparency International Secretariat is currently seeking a Governance & Accreditation Coordinator (m/f/d) with focus on Membership accreditation to join the Governance, Legal & Events Team.

The Governance, Legal & Events Team is responsible for the internal governance of the global organisation at the Transparency International Secretariat (TI-S) and it facilitates the development of and helps ensure a strong, integer and relevant TI Movement that fulfils its mission efficiently and in full abidance with the values that it promotes, also in respect of the diversity and high independence of its constituents.

OVERVIEW OF KEY DIMENSIONS

Role Purpose: The Governance & Accreditation Coordinator (m/f/d) has a focus on Membership accreditation and supports the overall National Chapter accreditation process by coordinating and conducting regular accreditation reviews, supporting the accreditation cycle including continuous improvements and supporting relevant stakeholders in the process. The Governance & Accreditation Coordinator also supports the communication and coordination of of TI governance processes and events, in particular meetings of the TI Board of Directors, International Council, Movement Summit, Regional and Annual Membership Meetings.

Salary Band: According to TI-S internal salary structure; for this position corresponding to band PF2 salary starting EUR 42,000 gross per year depending on relevant experience

Contract Duration: Currently we can offer an employment contract limited for a duration of 2 years. There is a prospect of extension subject to organizational need continuing, performance proven and funding confirmed and there is interest in a stable and long-term cooperation.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE ROLE

Based in the Governance, Legal & Events Team and reporting to the Head of Governance, Legal & Events, the Governance & Accreditation Coordinator will:

  • Coordinate the entire accreditation cycle from National Chapter in Formation to National Chapter in a comprehensive and timely manner proactively informing relevant TI stakeholders of progress made
  • Evaluate submitted National Chapters documents andcompile accreditation reviews in consultation with relevant TI stakeholders
  • Coordinate and communicate input from relevant TI stakeholders on the assessment and review of National Chapters
  • Ensure that National Chapters deliver to TI-S statutory documentation such as audited financial statements, annual reports, registers of interests, etc., and conduct or coordinate due diligence on such documentation, including compiling standards of best practice thereon
  • Support National Chapters, in cooperation with relevant TI Stakeholders, throughout the accreditation cycle and reviews in a timely and effective manners, ensuring a smooth process for everyone involved
  • Ensure overall coherence, efficiency, and effectiveness of accreditation reviews and processes, and further develop the accreditation system including increased use of technology and tools where appropriate
  • Contribute to the overall functioning of the Governance, Legal & Events Team by providing proactive and ad hoc support where necessary
  • Coordinate or support the logistical arrangements of TI-S governance processes or movement-wide events, including e.g. meetings of Board of Directors, International Council, Movement Summit, Regional and Annual Membership Meetings
  • Carry out policy work e.g. by conducting short-term desk research and surveys on accreditation or governance issues of relevance to TI-S or by facilitating policy development processes

CANDIDATE PROFILE

In order to succeed in this role, candidates will need to meet the following:

  • Undergraduate or postgraduate university degree or professional qualification in the legal field, social sciences, administration or another relevant field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience with an International NGO, or International Organisation, or Multinational Organisation working on project or process management, business administration, compliance or another relevant field
  • Experience in project or process management, event management or communications required
  • Knowledge of, or considerable interest in, the work of TI and the field of anti-corruption
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to effectively manage priorities and competing demands
  • Knowledge of organizational / capacity development and policy development an advantage
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly in remote communication
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to produce accurate documentation (e.g. reports) with attention to detail
  • Proven knowledge of CRM Systems an advantage
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks across a wide range of issues and to work effectively under pressure
  • High level of intercultural competence, diplomacy, and political sensitivity
